Is it just me or was Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 the greatest games ever?

I was 8 when part 1 came out and 9 when part 2 came out. To me those were the greatest games ever. It was a time in video gaming where the graphics for the time were great and of course not as good as now, but they were more simplistic and beautiful I believe. Who's with me?
