Is Xbox Live worth it?

I need to know if xbox live is worth it. these are the games i have: Viva Pinata, Lord of the Rings Conquest, Banjo-Kazooie:Nuts & Bolts, Viva Pinata TIP, Battlefield:Bad Company, Guitar Hero Aerosmith, Sonic's UGC, TDU2 & 1, Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Madden NFL 11 & Transformers WFC. I have wireless connection so i have to spend 50-100$ on an adapter, i tried connecting it to my laptop and it didn't work. I can play live whenever i want its not like a weekend thing.
