How do you stop a leaking air nozzle on an inflatable pool?

The ring of our inflatable pool is leaking. The valve stem, where you blow it up, when opened rapidly releases air(used to be a slow process) and leaks past the plug. Anyone have an idea for a quick fix that can be removed when the pool is to be taken down? We've inspected the entire ring and that's the only place we're finding a leak, and it's not exactly a place you can simply patch.
