Do hedgies like to play with brightly colored ribbon?

My daughter recently discovered a bright pink ribbon and sticks it between the bars of the cage and my hedgehog goes crazy! I'm not sure if He's playing with it or being agressive torwards it. He bites it and tugs on it and runs around it. Has anyone else experienced this?
