Why are the waterpark pools shallow: read below for more info?

So do you know how those kind of slides at the water park; the ones that you go on an inflatable tube? Yes those ones. Ya know the pool that you land in is always like 2-4 feet deep. Why not deeper like 8 or 9 feet? Why can't you land in some nice deep water? That would be fun.
