What is a cool easy to take care of pet that can live in an appartment building?

Providing pet hedgehogs are legal to possess where you live and whether you can find willing and competent veterinary care locally, hedgehogs are ideal pets for apartments. They are quiet, clean, hypoallergenic, odorless if healthy, and entertaining, zany little characters. Although they will play and don't mind being awake during the day, they are primarily nocturnal. The only real negative is that they must be kept at at least 72 degrees Fahrenheit at all times. You may want to read up on them first, and an excellent pet hedgehog care book was published last year by Barron's titled "Hedgehogs: A Complete Pet Owner's Manual" by veterinarian Sharon Vanderlip.
